Is psychology or sociology more useful I don't plan on taking a psychology career like clinical psychology or educational psychology

It would depend on what you are hoping to do after. What kind of field are you looking to go into?

If you are not sure, I would say just go with which interests you more. Psychology focuses more on individual behaviour than sociology, which focuses more on social constructs. Both involve some statistical analysis.

Alternatively, you could take a joint degree in Psychology and Sociology.
