Hi Guys,
So I'm currently in my second year of uni and I'm struggling to find out what exactly in accounting is it that I want to do. As you can see from the title, I do a business management degree with specialisation in accounting. yet I don't know what career pathways I could do.
So yeah, Any guidance would be very much helpful, thank you so much!!

Highly recommend you apply for an undergraduate placement in any finance department or a big corporate company right now before 3 year. The experience will help.

Speak to the Universities careers advice department.

Options after University
Graduate Schemes at the Big 4
Graduate Scheme in the NHS
Graduate Scheme at the Civil Service
Work in the Bank as mortgage advisor?
PGCE Teaching?
Masters in ACCA?
Finance Roles - finance assistant, finance admin, forecasting analyst, accounting assistant, management accountant(nhs has a few of these roles and they don't require you to be an accountant but can work towards the qualification yourself);

I find it odd that anyone would go into this kind of degree without some idea of what they want at the end. It's not like people do the UCAS personal statement thing with "From an early age, I have always been fascinated by accounting". Surely you must have some idea.

lool, my personal statement did not start like that! but yeah i had some idea that i would like a career in finance, since i was pretty good at maths and i was pushed into finance as a subject of interest from sixth form. From last year (my first year) i pretty much liked all the modules, because there was more calculations instead of just theory like it currently is in my second year. So i guess what im saying is i am swaying more towards financial accounting instead of management accounting.
