Ok i need some detailed advice on oxbridge

I want to go onto study economics at a elite uni for example oxford, i just started alevels in September (y12) the alevels I’m doing are Further maths, maths and psychology, wh can i do now that will set me above and put me above competition for oxbridge and other elite unis, please be detailed, I’ve been hearing the same stuff for the past months like “get As and A*”

Make notes when reading.

Decide what it is you want to use your economics degree for. Pursue that interest and find some experiences that you could participate in to show your motivation towards this field.

I'm not gonna lie, economics is a very popular subject at elite universities, and competition is high. That doesn't mean you won't get in, though! It just means a lot of hard work and further study (as per 04MR17's post). You will have to get high marks in the admissions tests, as well, to gain an interview.

Let's hear from the experts. Here are the relevant chapters from Oxford Demystified, written by students who have actually got in. This is the gold standard, and use this as a springboard to get started. However, everyone's Oxford journey is different, depending on your own interests.

Yes, I would aim for those top grades (although you don't need ALL top grades, as you do for medicine). It's more than just about grades. Many apply to the above subjects with fantastic grades and don't get in. Just see getting into Oxford economics as a bonus, not a given and you will be OK.
