Hey, I started in September, I'm literally stuck on the same question as you, did you get any advice? :frown:

The questions have changed now 🙈 so it might be different to what I did x
Hi

I teach on an Access to HE Nursing and Midwifery course, if you are struggling with a Health Studies type unit I strongly recommend 'Health Studies' by Naidoo and Wills, it will be invaluable

Hi, Are you still doing this course? I just started and wanted to ask anyone who’s in the process of completing this how they found it? Also how has your experience been with the course provider? Thank you

Hi, yes I'm on Unit 8 now. I've been getting through the assignments ok, first 5 achieved, then a merit for unit 6 and distinction for unit 7. It's definitely intense when trying to do it, work full time and having kids, very much all on you to put the work in. The study guide is literally just a starting point, then you have to do a lot of your own research with very limited assistance from the course provider. I started in September 2023, just to give you an idea of how I'm progressing. Would have ideally wanted to be further on by now but its just hard finding the time to get much further ahead.

That’s great! Your almost there. I understand it’s definitely a challenge with work and kids. I’ve just started the course and am a bit sceptical as to whether i should continue, as the information given by the course tutor is quite vague.
Are you wanting to study midwifery further in uni?
I wanted to do this course so I could pursue midwifery further.
Is there any sites or books etc that have helped you? If you don’t mind sharing
Thank you

What unit are you currently on? I did buy a book based on a recommendation called Health Studies which is a generic text book on a lot of issues around health care, but it's not like a biology textbook or anything. My first sciency module was on cell biology and I borrowed A Level biology books from the library which were handy and explained everything in very straitforward terms so I'll definitely use them again on my next scientific unit. I can look back on my assignments if there are any in particular that I've completed and can let you know how I approached it.
