Transgender fashion
I am a mtf mature student. Is it OK to wear a skirt or shorts with opaque tights to lectures?

Yep, absolutely fine 
Why wouldn't it be? A skirt, shorts, or short dress over leggings or tights is pretty typical womenswear at uni from what I've seen, other than basic jeans/leggings and t shirt type looks. People will turn up to lectures in pyjamas so anything that is (vaguely) clean and comfortable is as good as uni "fashion" gets usually

If you want opaque tights why not try F&F tights from TESCO. They do really nice tights: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGem9qSHp/
