I’ve just had a quick look and a lot of unis in the UK don’t really give offers out for BTEC level 3 alone. Most of them I’ve just looked at require an A level alongside them. This was a brief look though at about 4 unis.

I’ve just found the university of Cardiff which is voted the best optometrist school in England have a 4 year course and they accept BTEC extended diploma level 3, they just require you to get DDM but you must have distinctions in all core units.

If I was you I’d go on UCAS course finder and type in optometry and have a look at individual unis. Particular places you wouldn’t mind travelling to and have a look at what they want from you.
