Do I stick with an admin apprenticeship?

So I have an apprenticeship to became a financial services administrator, I would like to eventually become a paraplanner.
I'm only going to earn 12k a year however, and given I would have to pay for my own paraplanning qualifications anyway (which are expensive), I wonder whether I should quit and do it off my own back?
