Crash Advanced Higher Music???

Hear me out… I play guitar to grade 8, however I’ve never done a music qualification in school. I can learn bass easily enough to grade 5.

How hard would it be for me to learn all the theory needed for advanced higher music? Is it even possible to do that in a year?

Any help is much appreciated

I'm crashing advanced higher music. I think its not that hard.
Since the Composing part is extracted out this year, this makes it course much easier.
You need to build on most of the knowledge from N5 Hs and then AHs. The written exams would really expect answers at AH level, but you'll need to listen for music and find answers using all the knowledge.
Then again, I have Performance Grade 8 ABRSM and Theory Grade 6.

I'd say give it a go but it won't be easy.
Hope this helps!

hi ! im sitting advanced higher music this year and i did nat 5 and higher. honestly because this year they have taken out the composing part, more focus is on performing and because you are at high levels in both instruments you will get high marks for these. i was and still am terrible at theory but because of my performing i only had to get 14/40 in the paper last year to still get an A!
so yeah i think you'll be fine, maybe go over some higher stuff like the basics but overall i'm sure you'll get a good grade regardless of crashing the subject. hope this helps a bit

I definitely wouldn’t recommend crashing advanced higher because of the theory and of course your instruments are fine but only worth 50% of grade and the examiners can be 🤬😊. Anyway the theory is mental and is honestly ridiculous
