Hi TSR forum,

I recently have been going through a bit of meltdown that occured at the start for the pandemic and was taken under the care of my local county's mental health team.

Long story short I was diagnosed with a few mental health disorders and developmental/ learning disorders including autism and ADHD.

Through therapy and professional help, it has been suggested that I didn't have the mental capacity to make some of the choices I made at university i.e. I switched courses on a bit of a whim and had constant struggles understanding the tasks I was set i.e. exam briefs etc.

I just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and could advise me what to do? I've been told I should be able to present this case to SFE to get my student fees waived but I'm a bit lost.

Kind regards,
Alex

i would contact the university you were attending they failed to recognise your disability and should consider supporting you to restart on an appropriate course waving any extra fees as a reasonable adjustment for disability they missed.I would start with disability support and see what response you get.
