Multi-store model of memory (6)Watch this thread
Outline the main features of the multi-store model of memory. (6)
The multi-store model of memory describes how information flows through the memory system. Mmeory is made of three stores, linked by processing, All stimuli from the environment pass into the sensory register. This part of memory contains five stores, one or each sense. The information then passes from the sensory register into the short-term memory store. Information only passes if attention is paid to it. Maintenance rehearsal occus when we repeat material to ourselves. W can keep information in STM as long as we rehearse it. It then passes into LTM. Retireval occurs from LTM gwbe we wabr ri recall information stored in LTM it has to be transferred back to short-term memory.
