I want to apply to medical school; when I checked the entry requirement for a medicine course, it said they require at least seven GCSEs at grade A (7) or A* (8+). What does that mean exactly, especially the "grade 7 or 8" bit?
P.S I just have my maths (8) and English (6) GCSE's
Thank you

Does that mean I will not be eligible for the course because I have the 6 in English, even if all the other GCSE's are higher than a 7?
By the way, there are the GCSE requirements for the course:

" We require at least seven GCSEs at grade A (7) or A* (8+).
English Language, Mathematics and at least two science subjects are required at GCSE minimum grade B (6). If Dual Award Science or Core and Additional Science are offered, the minimum required is BB (66). "

How many GCSEs do you have?

English (6), Maths (8), and I also did a degree in my country home and I was told that my grades in the certificate I got for that degree are equivalent to AS so you can say GCSE grade 9 for each subject I did - I did physics, chemistry, and biology.
So 5 GCSEs.
