although there's overlap and areas where these two aren't very comparable, i'd say medicine. tell people you're at oxbridge and they may (not likely) assume you're posh/pretentious but most people respect (pre)doctors just for what they're doing

These sorts of threads are bonkers. Who cares about 'prestige', really?

I have never in person met anybody that has talked in this way about degrees

I disagree, an Oxbridge medicine degree is worth as much as any other medicine degree for UK clinical medical / surgical training purposes.
