Pinyin but for arabic (solved)

I understand that when learning Mandarin, there is an in-between step of learning pinyin. Is there a similar system to pinyin for Arabic? (the Latin alphabet used to spell Arabic words?)

I don’t think so
I’ve only seen it used for religious texts to help non-Arabic speakers, but I don’t believe I’ve ever come across it as a learning tool.

I was mainly wondering what it's called?

Such a thing doesn't exist for Arabic since the language is written using a script, not using symbols if that's what you are thinking. You might find some people mostly from North Africa who will write Arabic using a Latin script and using some numbers such as 3, 5 or 7 to represent some Arabic letters not found in the Latin script.
