My wife has been teaching pre-school and primary in Pakistan for the past 17 years. She did her B.A. (English) and M.A. (English Lit) in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Realistically what are the chances of being able to go to the UK for a PGCE on scholarship? Thanks in advance for your replies.

If she is looking to teach English, her chances are 0, because there aren't any scholarships available for English. Scholarships are only available for a few subjects- chemistry, computing, maths and physics- because of the lack of teachers.

Bursaries are available for other subjects (although not English) but only if she would get student finance in the UK. If she's resident in Pakistan, this won't apply.
