When should I take the LNAT?

I want to apply for LNAT universities for Law and will be doing so in 2023, when should I sit the LNAT?

I was under the impression that you should take it early in Year 13, but i'm not sure if that is the case.

Hi everyone. I am a bit confused. I have just done my gcses about a month ago, getting my results for them in 3 weeks time. Id like to study law at uni but i don't really understand the time scales. Would I have to do my lnat in year 12 or year 13? And what months of the year too... sorry to be a pain. Ive read the discussion but im just a bit lost. Could i also ask when you have to submit the ucas application as well? I just dont really understand this whole process.

Hi, don't worry about asking these questions because I was super confused at the start of year 12 too!
In terms of the lnat- you take this towards the start of year 13 but start practicing at the end of year 12 and the summer in between. When exactly you take it depends on the universities you will apply to. For Oxbridge the deadline is mid October. For LSE, UCL and KCL you must sit by mid December. For the rest, mid January.

UCAS application is also university dependent. Oxbridge have a mid October deadline whereas the rest are in January. However, your school will probably set earlier internal deadlines to check the applications in time (at least that's what my school has done). This includes your personal statement (though that's changing for your year), teacher reference and general information (address/GCSEs/ parent info etc). It's recommended you do the research/activities for your PS throughout year 12 and write most of it in summer.

Hope this helps!
