I am studying A level Computing as well as Business BTEC and Sociology A level at sixth form and I have been looking at doing a computing related apprenticeship as I'm not really interested in going to a university. I have been looking at apprenticeships in my area and they are mostly training for IT support which is not something I am looking for. I would like to work with servers, hardware or databases, as I'm not a good coder, and I'm wondering what I should do. Should I keep looking for apprenticeships or are there better options?

It’s not uncommon to start in support/help desk, prove your ability and move on to another area to specialise in. Don’t rule it out if what the company does interests you.

Or you could simply look if there are apprenticeships you like more elsewhere in the country and move.
