Prefer staying home

Is it weird or wrong that I apart from work or studies I like to always be at home?
I’m an introvert, I honestly don’t feel any need to socialise or go out apart from getting supplies/shopping. I am comfortable & happy staying at home. It’s more others like family or friends who seem to have issue with me being a bit of a recluse.
I don’t see how it harms anyone, why should I live the way others think I should?
Am I wrong for doing what makes me happy?
If I was rich I would happily live in a house in the middle of nowhere and never see anyone. I much prefer pets like cats or dogs company than people.

You know the trend ive been noticing this past decade is that you are far from alone.

My roomates are like you, apart from classes and essentials they stay in their rooms all day/night.
I now a ton of friends that are like you, rarely go out. I also believe this new generation of kids growing up are like that.

However all that being said, you have to notice the consequences such as less oppurtunitys in your dating life, little people are interested in others that live 'boring' lifes, aka don't go out at all.
Or even applying jobs for example, little experience on your CV/portfolio from staying inside all day can be negative.

I think your friends/family seem to have trouble because maybe you weren't always like this.

In the end I used to be like you for the past 5+ years. (now 25)
You aren't harming anyone, sure. But you could be ''harming'' yourself in the sense that you are cutting off from everyone around you and don't be surprised if you start losing connections/friendships... Espicially if you don't put any effort on your part to maintain it.

I think being a recluse really has its downsides in the long run wrong if you are not mentally prepared.

I did a 180 and even though I spend more time inside then outside still, I have to admit that forcing myself to socialise and do **** outside is much more beneficial for my mental.
I now have a Girlfriend which would of been impossible staying inside all the time.
Same goes for having a job that pays well... etc.

If I was rich I would happily live in a house in the middle of nowhere and never see anyone. I much prefer pets like cats or dogs company than people.

Do you expect to get that rich off your computer sitting in your house alone? Then good luck. Not saying its impossible, but majority of rich folks got rich off the help/supports of others around them.
Also buying and living alon out of nowhere requires you do to moves outside. No one is going to hand you that lifestyle. Espicially you staying insde all day/night :P.

EDIT" Mistake.

Not weird at all, I'm shy and introverted too! It's better to focus and be calm on your own, sometimes you just need some time to be alone and regenerate yourself. Your home is like a bubble where you feel safe and nobody can judge you or comment things.

Some people have problems with it because they expect you to blend in

Its fine but given you are bringing this up on a random forum I question how much you genuinely prefer staying in than going out, even if its on occasion.
