Don't repeat yourself. Keep intro and conclusion short to put more info into the body of the text. Cut out words like very, really (e.g very good, very keen, I really like, etc). Don't use long fancy words for the sake of looking smart, the content is what will make you stand out (e.g your exam grades, work experience, extra curriculars). Leave out anything that isn't relevant to your degree unless you can link it to a relevant skill that would be beneficial to point out. Good luck with your application!!
