I graduated last year and am not working with my master's supervisor anymore, but I've always wanted to thank them for opening my eyes with such intense intellectual pleasure and being that special person in my life. I don't know if I should because it feels a bit too much haha. Of course I don't have romantic feelings for them, I was just wowed by their intelligence and personality!

Personalised MoonPig card and a chocolate box.

Just say what you mean but remember how it may be perceived too eg if shared with other supervisors within the department & would you apply to work within that University environment you don't want any uncomfortableness happening..

Remember they get paid for their job so you don't need to do anything more.
