No. You ever tried those school "pizzas" which are exactly that? Its texture and taste is nothing like the real thing.

Try some real Italian-style pizza e.g. at Franco Manca and say it's just Cheese and Tomato on toast.

It isn't toast because toast is bread that is cooked a second time where as pizza dough is raw when it is put in the oven. So really it is cheese and tomato on bread.

This is a good point. Also, I've had a few experiences of takeaway pizza that was still a lot like raw dough when I ate it - tough on the stomach. Which seems to me a point in favour of cheese on toast, unless the pizza base is properly cooked.
