I really like the concept of doing psychology at a level , however sociology also sounds interesting but as they are already two essay subjects i believe , i quite enjoy maths at the moment , not to where i’m getting grades 8,9 but i would say that when i actually try and put my mind to it , i can be quite good at maths. So i was just wondering if anybody had any opinion on if these go together or if i should maybe change 1 or 2, i’m open to all suggestions

Honestly just take whatever you want to, if you take something that you don't want to its way easier to lose motivation. I find maths relatively easy compared to the other subjects I take (chem and bio) because once you learn the concept and how to apply it, it is not too difficult. I wouldn't underestimate maths but its a lot easier especially because the questions r too the point, thats just my opinion though but good luck!!

hello, I have a 1st BA (Hons) in sociology and an MSc in psychology so might be able to help.
There are parallels between the subjects. For me Sociology is a little easier as if you know the key perspectives of functionalism, marxism, and feminism you can apply them to a variety of different subjects. Psychology involves remembering a lot more about individual experiments and what they prove. Students who tend to excel in science tend to do better on psychology as it feels a bit more sciency (which is why it is awarded as a BSc at University rather than a BA).
Sociology is fascinating, but lacks a bit of kudos with a lot of general employers, Psychology is respected although the market is saturated with people with Psychology degree's. I would recommend for any social science courses that you consider post graduate study to specialise in a particular area such as teaching, social work etc
