First-year of uni and I'm like a year and two older than everyone in my group. I feel out of balance and place and I don't know anybody in this city.
It's hard for me to socialise as I don't drink or party and most of the people here, that's all they do

I'm not in Uni yet but I'm going next year and staying at an accommodation. I won't be drinking or going to parties too, so I can assure you there are other people like you. Please don't be so worried or depressed. Try to think positively, you got into Uni and that is amazing! I'm sure you will make many friends who also don't go drinking and party, keep talking to people in your classes. If talking to classmates doesn't work then you could try to join a club as I heard University's do different clubs? Good luck and I wish you the best!!

Hi 👋
When I first started university I felt exactly the same as coming from a small town going to university and moving to a new city was very challenging, so know that you will not be alone in feeling like this.
I am not sure what university you currently attend but have you tried contacting their mental health and wellbeing team? As I'm sure they will have things in place to help you through this difficult time in your life.
Most universities also offer a lot of different societies that you could look at joining, some of which do not involve drinking or partying.
If the people in your group are who you live with then you could get in contact with the housing and student accommodation team at your university to see about moving somewhere new with different people, or you could try and branch out to the other students on your course to try and broaden your friendship group.
Hope this helps - let me know if you have any further queries!
