My mom thinks that because I’m going to church, I’m part of a cult and she’s worried because people are really nice there which is how cults trap people. How do I tell her that it’s not a cult? A cult usually cuts off people from their families and demands payments and such. Church does no such thing

Is your mother in the habit of describing all churches and religions as cults?

Depends which denomination the church is. Some denominations aren't considered truly Christian because of their beliefs and therefore many other Christians see them as cults.
