PPE

Do I need to do politics, philosophy or politics to get into LSE, Oxford etc for ppe for reference I did history biology and chemistry but was wondering if only one essay based subject was enough for ppe (I know maths is recommended)
If you’re looking to attend universities like Oxford, surely you could look this up yourself…

From the LSE website, entry requirements for PPE: A*AA, with an A* in Mathematics
https://www.lse.ac.uk/study-at-lse/Undergraduate/Degree-programmes-2022/BSc-Philosophy-Politics-and-Economics

For Oxford: AAA, Maths recommended, History useful

I did see the Oxford one; as I said I know that maths is recommended but my question was would not taking them specific subjects or more humanities subjects hinder my application and make it less competitive. (I am also taking into account other universities hence the ‘etc’)

For both of those courses they do not require A levels in politics, philosophy or economics though a lot of applicants do take one of them, still I believe it does not harm your chances of getting in. Maths A level is needed for the LSE course and for Oxford it is highly recommended that you do an A level in Maths or at least an AS level to make a competitive application - I'd personally recommend you get some maths qualification because for the Thinking Skills Assessment for PPE - half the questions are problem solving and thus rely on mathematical skills which those who took Maths A level will clearly have an advantage in.

Just make sure you do a lot of super curricular activities and reading about PPE to stack your personal statement.

I got rejected from Oxford with no interview because of my TSA score so if u do end up applying, make sure you sweat for that test as its the best way of putting your foot in the door
