lol I don't think so, London is what symbolises this country to foreigners.

and his avatar? it's the band blur, it's from one of their album covers, for "the best of blur".
Oooh is it? I thought it was just random guys. It's cool anyway lol.

But I stil think Manchester is well-known to most people cos of the footy team and London too cos of the capital...and no, Birmingham isnt :p:

Newcastle. Well it's famous to me. Whenever I go on holiday the locals always recognise my dad's football top, so it must be famous in Spain lol.

Liverpool - The beatles.
I have to say that I agree. The Beatles are much more famous than the Manchester football team. America hardly knows what our football is, let alone what teams we have.

But Manchester United is much more famous in China that the Beatles are, and the population of China is much greater than that of the USA.

Oxford is pretty famous for its academic status. Cambridge less so in the worldwide sense, but still well known.

Famous for its music scene. A lot of creativity there. Trip-Hop was created there with artists like Tricky, Portishead, Massive Attack... (though they're probably not all from Bristol). A lot of Europeans will have heard of the city because of that fact.

A lot of people have mentioned Oxford and some people have forgotten to mention it. It's definitely a famous city. You just have to look at the number of tourists that consider Oxford an essential stop in their journey, much more than Manchester...which of course is very famous too.

Yes, Newcastle Brown made me throw up, which IIRC is the only time I've thrown up due to alcohol...

Cranleigh is world-famous for being Britain's largest villiage.
