Chemistry A level question? *calculating energy absorbed*

Hi! I had a quick question, so i’m currently doing a question using the Q=MxCx Change in temp equation.

It says that the water was cooled and the temperature dropped by 11 degrees, so in my equation would i just x by -11 or would it be a positive 11 ???

you need delta H to be positive since reaction is endothermic. i think the only way to get a positive value is to have delta T a positive value. However in the end you only need to make sure that the enthalpy change you calculate is positive.

I think the enthalpy changes are viewed from the point of view of the "system" and in your case the system will be gaining energy!

Hope this helped a bit!

Have look here it might help:
