A-level Art

Just curious,
When it comes to choosing what to draw or paint, what can’t you draw or paint?
E.g. nudity, alcohol

If your theme was "Decay" or "Cityscapes" it would be understandable if you had alcohol in your painting. Or nudity if you're trying to brush up on your anatomy.
What becomes a problem is when it's too extreme/explicit/glorifying (of a bad thing). But obviously, there's a gray area to a certain degree.
This reminds me of a situation we had back in GCSE Art; someone had a theme of "Beauty" for their boards, but the bodies they were painting had very unrealistic proportions. My teachers had to have a painful chat with them about glorification of "ideal" internet bodies and harmful beauty standards. As you might expect, they then had to change their theme.
Just take the time to think about the aim of your work!! Good luck out there !!! :>
