Hii!

I just applied to university for primary education with QTS, and I'm so excited!

Any primary ed students, how long did you have to wait for your interviews/offers?
Does anyone have any advice on the interview process and how to do well in them?
Lastly, is there anything I can do to prepare for not only the interviews but also the degree??

The universities I have applied to are:
- Liverpool John Moores
- Sheffield Hallam
- University of Reading
- Edge Hill University
- University of Chester

Has anyone applied to these in the past? How was your application experience?

Maybe there are some 2022 applicants here too, I'd love to talk to you about your application!

Thank you for any advice, its appreciated Xxx

There's a 2022 applicant chat thread here: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho....php?t=6856260

Unis tend to wait until they have a "batch" of students to interview, so it may take a few weeks to hear back from unis. Some unis may not interview at all until after Christmas. So don't worry if you're waiting a little while, this is totally normal!

Hi there,
I'm at the University of Reading as a Primary Education student and I'm currently in my first year.

Since I applied last year, my interview was online but I would say try to think of some questions the interviewer could/is likely to ask you. For example: "What makes a good teacher?"
I didn't have to wait long for my offer. I received mine within a week of my interview!
For the course itself, be prepared to work both individually and in groups. There can be a lot of group discussion! It's a great course and I'm really enjoying it so far!

Have you applied to do a subject specialism at Reading? I'm a Maths specialist myself.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them!

Hello!

Thank you for your reply!
I have my interview for Reading next Wednesday, currently trying to prepare for my one at Chester tomorrow though.

I have just chosen the general pathway for Reading, but math specialism sounds good!

Good luck with your course

Hey, I’ve been given an offer for this course! Please could you give me your honest opinion of the teaching and uni please? Also what’s the nightlife like there? Do you feel safe in the area?
