Hi,

I have spent some time researching and thinking of what EPQ question I would like to do. I have some ideas and I would really appreciate it if anyone with experience of the EPQ could give me some pointers and thoughts on which would we best, as I am struggling to pick one.

Just for some context, after A-levels I am looking to either do an accounting apprenticeship or study an accounting/economics degree at uni. i am currently studying biology, chemistry and maths.

From an economic perspective, why did the Soviet Union fall?
Is privatised or socialised healthcare more effective?
What is the best taxation system?
Should there be a minimum wage?
How does inflation affect the economy?
Evolution of communism

And also, once I have picked my question what can I do to prepare now? (as the EPQ hasn't fully kicked off quite yet, but will after this half term)

Thank you for your time.

Do some research into every question to see what you can find enough good info about to write an EPQ. The privatised or socialised question seems too big to cover in an EPQ, so maybe not that one. The communism one, how would you make it an analysis and not a summary? I’m not an economics person but did the same a levels and an EPQ, and would definitely recommend the Soviet Union, minimum wage, or inflation one. The minimum wage one sounds really interesting to read, definitely to me at least, it stands out the most. Also it relates well to economics and finance.
