Economics or Economics with Politics

I am predicted A*AA in Politics, History and Maths A levels. I want to apply for a mix of economics at safe unis such as SOAS, City or Greenwich but economics and politics at LSE, HPE at UCL. I was considering Political economy at King's because I thought the entry requirement for Pure Economics was an A* in Maths which I don't have. However, it turns out that the entry requirement is A*AA INCLUDING maths, which I have. So, now I am debating between doing Pure economics or Political Economy. (I originally was only looking for Econ degrees but after realising top unis require an A* in maths, I considered doing politics too - which I LOVE at A level). I think doing maths gives me an advantage at political economy but I only meet the entry requirement for pure Economics, do you think this will be a waste of a choice?
