Looking Young

just carry ID on you. If anybody laughs when they card you, ignore them. The reason why you're so miserable is because you're putting so much into what other people think. What you should be doing is putting more into what YOU think. Do YOU think you look good? Do YOU think that you have every right to be in a bar because you're 17? Then to hell with what everybody else says!

ok, trust me on this.

Finish 6th form and get a part time job or something, take 2 gap years, save money, and go to the gym makin sure u do weights not just cardio, then go to uni when you are 20. This is the advice i wish i had gotten.

Did you have the same problem as me then? How old are you now - At what age did you look older? Can i see picture?

Cheers, i have actually been considering this... Taking 2 years gap so that i look like everyone else when i go to university - My brother did the same thing but not on purpose, he became depressed and didn't try at school etc, he's 20 now and looks 20, he use to be like me, and he just went Uni.... he went to the gym loads to and got really muscley, he also got a job which he hated and gots lots of money!

Thats actually exactly what mybrother did - i don't think i'm ready for university - i look too Young but theres no way of getting out of it seems, i'm headed for AAB

When people say 'Omg you don't look 17' at the cinema, i ask how old they are if they are over 20 i say there pathetic to still be working in a cinema.

Try not to be so hard on yourself because at the end of the day there's not much you can do to speed up your puberty. When people say "omg u look so much younger" try not to let it effect you, i used to be told i look younger than i am so much that i ended up ignoring it. For some reason people feel the need to point out when someone looks younger than their actual age.

Anyway, i used to feel the same way as you do, try not to let this affect how you are towards other people. You should act like it doesnt bother you, that way people wont make a big deal and like someone else said, you should also act mature aswell. Remember that theres not much you can do about it so try not to worry too much and there are plenty of people who go through the same thing as you, youre not the only one.

I can sympathise somewhat,

upto about age 14 I actually looked older for my age,
...but from about 15 things changed and i started to look young, ..

i'm 23 now, ...and most people on appearence just automatically assume i'm a teenager around 17 ish.

gets annoying when you go for a job and people keep asking "is this your first job?" ..
people are usually surprised when they learn my true age or think i'm BS-ing them.

but the thing that annoys me most ..is how this effects girls.
in terms of looks ..without being arrogent ..i am on the goodlooking side ....and sometimes (it dosen't happen all that often ..) i'll be walking down the street ..and i'll overhear a comment, see a girls body language suddenly change or see a girl nudge her mates, ...then they all turn and look at you and it's clear it's because they find you attractive, ....but whenever this happens they always seem to look too young like they're 14 or something..

girls who look my age (23), ..i don't even think i'm on thier radar to be honest.

i think girls are most attracted to guys a little bit older than themselves so that probably figures..

dunno what to suggest for you OP other than if you can grow some facial hair try and keep it,

also try to act more mature than your average 18 year old. you are 18 right?

i notice when i act more mature ..and people then find out my age ..they are still generally surprised but they can actually see it because i'm acting more mature

Well, I have exactly the same problem. Despite being 17.5 at the moment, people usually guess I am 13-14.

I really hate shop assistants calling me a ,,girl´´. My 14 years old friend bought herself a glass of alcohol, I decided to do so and they unfortunately asked me for ID :frown: I know it is illegal to sell spirits to people under 18 in my country but the more annoying fact is that they did it to someone even younger than me without asking for ID...

When I went by bus for the last time, I was purchasing tickets, the driver asked me if I wish the child fare. I said no and he sighed with the words ,,I am so sorry, I have just charged it, so you will be 15 tomorrow.´´ That is the only advantage of it :P

hahaha I get that exact same thing all the time

I often wonder if the girls think theres a fit older guy like as if they think they are looking at some older boyband boyish guy or if they actually think its a cute guy their age

Rececnlty I was on the bus and 2 girls prob about 14 were sat behind me. 1 off them started saying stuff like hi boy and pulling my hair and trying to annoy me..I really think they thought I was their age...they were waving to me and stuff

And the other day I went into the doctors and 2 like 13-15? year old girls were behind the reception desk dancing to the radio (must be receptionist daughters) and as soon as I walk up they start looking at each other and smiling and smiling at me

I really dunno what these girls think?

Hello
Because i look young, i don't mean 'Young' like my friend looks 17 when he's 18, i mean i look young due to physical development taking its time, so naturally i look about 12-14.

I'm 21 and i look about 18 and i have to say it doesnt bother me at all, i can't even grow a full beard yet :giggle:. Live with it, you wont look young forever. Just think when you're 25, you will look about 20/21 ergo you can pull younger girls. Advantages are in the future. ding ding.

Oh and if anyone makes fun say "Yah i look young, but i will grow eventually. unfortunately for you, the whole bulldog chewing a wasp thing will last forever. loser"
OP I'm 24 and in my first year of uni and literally my social life revolves around 18 year olds because I don't pass for 24.
