Nothing to do witht he fact that he was the hottest goalkeeping prospect for a long time? And it was not Chelsea pulling out of the race, Carson rejected Chelsea for Liverpool as there would be better prospects.
I'm sure that if Pidgeon(sp?) was superior to Carson, Scotty would still be back at Melwood celebrating. You shouldn't forget that Carson has had first team experience at Liverpool, including a Champions League leg against Juventus!

I'm starting to agree with your feelings of a 3-5-2, I suppose it's worked to an extent for the italians. Well actually, not really, but yeh. Would you be thinking along the lines of:

    Robinson
    Carragher Ferdinand Terry
    Carrick
    Beckham Lampard Gerrard A.Cole
    Rooney
    Owen

    ?
That's not bad actually.. though the right hand side does look a bit weak defensively - what about

    Robinson
    Carragher Ferdinand Terry
    Carrick
    Gerrard Beckham Lampard A.Cole
    Rooney
    Owen
Gerrard can go up and down the flank, and provide defensive cover too?

also - do you think that Ferdinand, Terry and even possibly Carragher are ahead of Campbell ?

    Lol, kk.

Well at least that's over, although it was a complete anticlimax. Unfortunately we'll have Chelsea back on the front pages again for the next week or so... :hmpf:

I wouldn't really go with the 3-5-2 tbh, it was speculation really. Gerrard on the right was be a travesty. He's been forced onto the wing before, and there's very little he can do there. He's a box-to-box CM, but his main positive is going forward. It'd just be wasteful! He only played in a RWB in the CL because Smicer coudn't cope with Serginho, and Gerrard was "running on empty".

    The Rio Poem

Oh Rio, Rio you're such a tool, Why must you always act the fool?

England's most promising for many years,

Now you've merely confirmed my fears,

Fergie rated you as the best,

Then you go and miss a test,

Our season collapses, the title goes,

To those Arsenal fellas, our wretched foes,

September marks the end of the run,

Your comeback game, we win 2-1,

We could not predict the aftermath,

That Liverpool would have the final laugh,

Now you demand a higher pay,

    Even after a lengthy holiday,

Once again, you made the news,

In a reported meeting with the Blues,

The club which has a solitary goal,

"We need to get that Ashley Cole."

But hey, I suppose we shouldn't frown,

At least you've taken Beckham's crown,

Both of you made quite a pair,

    What with your ridiculous hair,

Enough of the fights, bans and lies,

You need to help us win a prize,

The Premier League trophy we must win,

Or Fergie could well pack it in,

We know that you are desperate to win it,

So for Christ's sake Rio, "OBEY THE LIMIT!"
