What are everyones favourite (and least favourite) GAMSAT revision resources?

I tried searching through past discussions, including past years, but couldn't find the answers I was looking for.

Recommendations can be either free or paid, I'm just looking to see which ones people thought were the most useful & worthwhile.

This list of resources I've seen around include:
- Official ACER resources
- Gold standard books
- Des O'Neil books
- GradMed
- Griffiths Gamsat Review
- AceGAMSAT
- A level CGP revision guides
- Khan academy
- Crash course
- Barry's tutoring webinars
- The Guru method
- Fraser
- ANY OTHERS???

I didnt buy the gold standard books, but I bought the S2 online course and found it incredibly helpful. I also submitted 2 essays to be marked and I think it really helped boost my score.

For S1 and 3, I think the best approach is to do a few questions each from as many different resources as you can get your hands on. For S3, the most helpful resource for me personally was the Gold Standard videos on youtube with explanations of the official practise papers.

Did anyone (re)sit the GAMSAT this March (2022) sitting? How did it go? If you sat any previous GAMSAT exams, how did it compare? I could not find a thread specifically dedicated to this so I thought I would post here, but please redirect me to the right thread if there is one!

I sat it for the third time on Sunday. found s1-2 virtually the same as the other occasions. Both reasonable, interesting essay prompts. s3 I found hard (NSB), very reasoning / graph based but I felt many of the stimuli were confusing.

For reference I sat in Sept 2020 (60,61,52) and 2021 (50,62,54).

Hey everyone - I happily managed to score okay in my GAMSAT and secure a place in med school. As such I’d like to give away (for free) the materials I used to prepare to someone else who is applying. I have a number of books recommended for section two as well as general advice on interview prep etc (see photo below).
I also have lots of materials from a prep course, textbooks and practice papers, which I think would be really useful.

DM me if you’re interested! Would ideally love to send the whole set to one person to save me postage.

Mods - sorry if against the rules, hopefully okay as not selling these…

It’s that time again.. debating whether or not I want to really punish myself with the GAMSAT and whether I’ll actually do some substantial prep this time? 🤔

How is everyone preparing for the GAMSAT? What are some effective ways to prepare for this?

I did mine last September and got 76. Familiarise yourself with the format of the exam by looking at the official papers. Then do as many practise questions as you can from a range of sources. There is quite a lot of free stuff out there and you can find cheap resources on gumtree/ebay as well. For S2, come up with a format for the 2 essays and practise writing as many essays as you can in 30mins. Having that "idea bank" makes it so much easier to come up with ideas for the real thing. For S3, gold standard have youtube videos going through the official papers. They are incredibly useful in understanding how to approach different types of questions.

Well done you did so well! Also thank you so much for getting back to me! How long would you say you spent on Gamsat prep?

Thank you! I started in march and did an hour a day on most days. I did skip quite apt of days due to other commitments and just not feeling up to it! I work full-time so I wanted to start early so I could do little bits that would add up over the months. I didn't get into a GAMSAT uni though, so feels like a bit of a waste now!

Can I ask why you didn’t get the place?

I found the interview really tough. I was wait listed but then I withdrew to accept a place at a UCAT uni.

I am looking to apply for graduate entry medicine at UoN for 2023 entry. I know there are two dates I can sit the GAMSAT (March 2022 and September 2022). Obviously I missed the March date but would the September date be considered too late for 2023 entry?

So would this reduce my chances of being offered a place? Uni would wait to see my GAMSAT results before deciding on my application right?

No it will be fine. They wait till results are released in November before setting their interview cut-off.

To be honest, I had no idea how the process of applying for GEM worked until recently as I come from a non medical background. Unlikely i'll pass it but worth a shot I guess.

Is there a deadline for registering for the GAMSAT (sept 2022)?
