Hey guys have you guys received your gamsat admission tickets? I just received mine at royal national hotel at London. I was wondering where you guys choose your locations as well ^^?

Hi all! Back to sit the GAMSAT again  Hope your prep is going well!
On my admission ticket, it says that a mini erasable whiteboard is an item that we 'must' bring to the test centre - this is different from previous years, I was wondering whether this was more of a recommended item than a necessity as it seems quite odd to have to buy a whiteboard especially for the GAMSAT? (I do have a whiteboard but would not say it is 'mini').

On the Acer web site it says, "Candidates are permitted to bring a small erasable whiteboard no bigger than 30cm x 25cm and marker to the test centre. Candidates who do not have access to a whiteboard will have two sheets of scratch paper per test session i.e. 2 sheets of paper for Sections I and II combined, 2 sheets of paper for Section III issued to them. These will be supplied by ACER at all testing venues." (https://gamsat.acer.org/sit/permitted-testing-aids). Then in the info book (page 10) it says the above and then in the list of things you "need to bring" it lists the whiteboard and marker (page12) (https://gamsat.acer.org/files/GAMSAT_Info_booklet_2022.pdf)

If you have one, and it's A4-ish size, I'd take it just in case (cost of small whiteboard and pen is dwarfed by cost of the actual test  and better to be have it than not). Anything you can do to minimise stress. I agree, that seems odd to provide contradictory advice...

Good luck with the test!

It confused me because I've sat the GAMSAT before and nothing about whiteboards was mentioned so I thought I would check! But of course things will inevitably change over the years. Yes, you have a good point there haha! Thank you, and thanks for your reply

Hi !

I just had a few question for people who sat the GAMSAT before :

1) If I understand during the reading time you can read the stimulus / questions but you can't click on answers right ? Can you take notes on your whiteboard during that time ?

2) Is there anywhere online where I can find a picture of what the interface looks like during the test ?

3) So all the subjects are on the computer , is it fluid to go through differents sections of the test or is it going to make me loose time ? ( lets say I want to do all the physics questions first for example )

4) IF you brought an bilingual dictionary were they just doing a quick check ? (or is it going to be a pain 😅)

Bonus question : Anyone passing the Gamsat In sheffield this year ?

Thanks for the answers !

Can someone else confirm this but I remember being able to click the answers/type as soon as the exam started in March. I may be wrong though. I think you can take notes as soon as the exam starts. It was pretty easy to move through the questions. You can see the tab for each question in the rows at the top of the page. Hope that helps

The last time I had my exam. I was allowed to go out of the hotel during lunch break. Not sure whether it's the same for all venues, but it should be

Loads of technical problems, but the team was very professional about it so no problem !

Keep an eye on the clock !

Hey everyone
If I was to book to do the gamsat in March 2023, am I able to apply via ucas in September 2023 for the September 2024 cohort?
Been trying to figure out if it's worth doing it in March 2023 or waiting to September 2023.

It would be ulster GEM if anyone's applied there and knows the procedure 😀

Yeah you can and it's actually a good plan because you would know your score before applying and if you think it's not enough you can do the exam again !
