Had a placement in a GP Practice with 1 nurse. Was given a deadline of September 29th to complete PAD, emailed them on 20th to ask if they are available to sign PAD, however was told the nurse is on annual leave. Emailed again a week later to ask if she’s back (even though the email stated they would get ahold of me when she does) and the nurse said she couldn’t WRITE on my PAD but she could see everything, in an email 4/5 days after me asking if the nurse is back by sending an email to the receptionist at the GP Practice.
Within the same day, emailed to say to check if PAD is working, got an email back 4/5 days later and she told me she’ll sign in on 16/11. Waited an on Tuesday 15/11, got an email saying she is extremely busy, she cannot sign it — it is out of their control.
Called the practice manager, and was told l left it too late. However one of the student in the placement got her work signed on the 12/11. And lied on the email saying l contacted them on the 27/10 when it was the 20/10.
On our last day, told that we would be gotten ahold of to complete our PAD. The nurse gave one of the student her number but was not.
And am struggling to see if l am at fault because l have many emails to say l have tried with them. They don’t have to do much it’s confirming my hours, and doing orientation, start, mid and final point, and OAR. Which is all mostly ticking stuff or copying and pasting.
I’m now suffering mentally (which l have emailed Head of Nursing, Tutor, made an complaint, applied NEC however placement cannot complete PaD by then and Student Union are finding this silly). Can someone help me?
My degree is on the line over something that’ll take less than 15 mins. All my mentors in previous placements have managed to complete this at home, during their breaks and or during the weekends.
Update; They said they would do it by themselves during clinicals, however if that should have been the case why couldn’t she have done this rather than ask me to set a date for me to come?
Note: I’m in 2nd year completed my 1st placement for 2nd year, the problem is with my 1st Years 3rd Placement.
