How many hours of lectures do you have? Any days off? How much are you expected to independently study? Are you required to go to lectures/seminar? can you watch the lectures online through blackboard?

Hi there, I am in my first year at Leicester (been 2 months now!)
Leicester is a great medical school, the people here are amazing and the medical school is quite well established with their own medical association called LUSUMA.
- Lecture hours tend to be anywhere from 8-10 per week but that includes other compulsory modules which you have to do (learning about the healthcare system etc)
- Independent study depends on you tbh, many people don’t study at all (wouldn’t recommend that as you can fall behind quickly) but if you manage your time well you can get everything done on the same day and have some time left over to relax
- Some lectures are compulsory to attend in person but majority can be viewed online on blackboard - I usually watch it live or recorded doesn’t matter
Hope this helps and good luck if you apply!
