Do a placement year!

This makes the biggest difference to your graduate job opportunities - anyone with 'experience' is far more highly regraded by employers and a placement will immediatly mark you out from all the other graduates who don;t have this : https://www.prospects.ac.uk/jobs-and...ork-placements

Info from relevant Unis :

Placement years greatly increase your employability as they give you the first-hand experiences that graduate employers are looking for. Not only this, they give you the chance to turn the placement into a full-time graduate offer after all your studies are complete, fast-tracking your way to post-university employment.

I study Maths and Economics at Uni of Nottingham and they offer a year in industry between the second and third years of study for a reduced tuition fee. All students here are backed by a placement tutor and a fantastic careers and employability service to help you to find the right year in industry. You should take a look at the course page online.

Hope this helps!
