Multiple Orgasms - Male

OK, basically last night I was with my girlfriend, and she was giving me a handjob. For some reason it didn't seem to be going anywhere, I was getting to a point where I couldn't get any closer to orgasm and then she'd get tired and we'd go back to kissing, carressing each other etc. When she came back to it, she gave me another handjob and this time I managed to get over the point we got stuck at before. I finally came, which was good. However, she didn't stop then as I'd imagine. Instead, she carried on and about 20 seconds later I came again even harder, and my penis stayed erect so she did it one more time.

Is this having multiple orgasms? Because I thought that only women could experience them :s-smilie:

I'm not complaining if it is though... It was rather good!
Yeh you had a mulitple orgasm. They're just basically several orgasms in one sex sesh. Lucky you.

Lucky guy.. :p:
I do actually think they are easier for guys to have, than girlies... That's if the guy doesn't want to head straight off to the land of nod.

Actually, no. It really matters on the refractory period the particular male experiences, which can vary from time to time and male to male. So, physiologically, it's more difficult and sometimes impossible.

What gives you the authority to claim this? As long as the guy maintains his erection he has a higher probability of orgasming than a woman.

Authority? Any book on physiology...

If absolute, a period of total inexcitability of a nerve or muscle cell immediately following stimulation. After this absolute refractory period, there is a relative refractory period during which only a stronger than normal stimulus can excite the nerve or muscle.

Or if you want it to directly relate to sex:

In sexual intercourse, the refractory period is a recovery phase after orgasm during which it is physiologically impossible and painful for a person to experience continued arousal or additional orgasms. Parts of the vagina or penis may become hypersensitive and further sexual stimulation may even feel painful during this time frame.

The refractory period varies widely among individuals and across species, ranging from nonexistent to hours. An increased infusion of the hormone prolactin (which represses dopamine, which is responsible for sexual arousal) during orgasm is believed to be chiefly responsible for the refractory period and the amount by which prolactin is increased may affect the length of each refractory period.

Another chemical which is considered to be responsible for this effect is oxytocin, although, as oxytocin has a half-life of typically about three minutes in the blood, it would not create a long-term refractory period.

Some people do not experience a refractory period immediately after orgasm and in many cases are capable of attaining additional, multiple orgasms through further stimulation. The female sexual response is more similar to that of men than previously thought. Most men and women experience hypersensitivity after orgasm, which effectively creates a refractory period. During a refractory period it may be difficult to be aroused by physical stimulation alone, but an element of mental stimulation may help reinstate arousal.

My point was that mattering on the circumstances and various other factors that it can be difficult to impossible to achieve multiple orgasms for some men. Obviously, the ability to continue to hold an erection already presumes a smaller refractory period as there is not significant blood loss from the region.

The passage you quoted says nothing to support your original "more difficult" statement - if anything it suggests the two sexes are very similar in this regard.

didnt think you could do it but just made orgasms unattractive with them big words

I'd say that was mainly down to men's failings at sucessfully giving orgasms altruistically. It's not that hard...

It's certainly possible for men to have multiple orgasms (I used to do it often), though most seem to assume it can't happen.

What usually happens is that the first orgasm releases all the tension and the erection is lost pretty quickly. Obviously, once the erection has gone so has the chance but provided the man is sufficiently excited and can remain so for long enough, then a second orgasm is possible.

Are you sure your boyfriend actually experienced a full orgasm both times? Although most men think that ejaculation and orgasm are exactly the same thing, they are in fact separate. It is possible to have one without the other, the linking mechanism can become confused, particularly where the man is close to the point of orgasm for an extended period of time. In this case there is quite often some ejaculation without or before proper orgasm. Dry orgasms may also occur.

Assuming your boyfriend did have multiple full orgasms then you are obviously doing the masturbation thing right! Keep up the good work.

:oink:
Yes and no. Yes, you are multiorgasmic because you had multiple orgasms in one session. Yay! Congratulations! You're on top of the world!.. and no because you ejaculated. Ejaculation eventually ends sex. You're young, 18-24, I guess you're 19 or 20. Younger men commonly ejaculate once or twice without losing the erection. Older men, not so common. There's another way to have male multiple orgasms, it's called nonejaculatory male orgasms NEMO), tantric sex, dry orgasms, etc.. Men can have the same orgasms without ejaculating and thereby retain mojo (sexual power and erections) and have several orgasms. There are many books on the subject. IMHO the best one for teaching men how to do it is called Love Satisfies, by Keepitup Johnson.
