so my teacher was teaching us the AS content for nucleotides and nucleic acids (module 2.1.3 OCR A) and she is giving us a test on Thursday but she didn't teach us on DNA replication. so is there anyone that does OCR Biology A that can give me their notes on DNA replication?

Have you ever covered DNA replication? At GCSE?

What do you know so far?

not really. we just learnt that it got replicated for mitosis. we never went into any depth

but we need to know about DNA replication (nucleic acids topic) for the test and my teacher didnt teach it.

So read up on DNA replication, there are lots of resources out there. If you have any specific questions or anything you don’t quite understand, then ask away.

•Hydrogen bonds between strands break using DNA helicase
•Both strands act as templates
•Free nucleotides attach by complimentary base pairing (A-T/G-C)
•DNA polymerase joins nucleotides
•Hydrogen bonds reform
•Semi conservative replication (each new molecule of DNA has one old strand and one new strand)

If you learn all of these steps with all of the key words you should be ok. Repeat them back in the exam. I do AQA but it shouldn't be too different. This doesn't include the direction of DNA replication or any information about 5'/3' carbon orientation. I don't know how in depth your exam will go.
