All of my other universities have given me a portal to sign into. Oxford hasn't. Is this the case for everybody?

yes

I got an email from Oxford yesterday saying they've received 1713 applicants this year, which is less than both 2021 and 2020. When the number of applicants dropped from 2020 to 2021, the mean bmat score to be shortlisted also dropped. So would it be fair to assume that the mean score will decrease further this year, since there are less applicants than 2021?

That's probably reasonable; what are you hoping to get?
Also, what were the numbers for each year?

Applicants:
2019 - 1766
2020 - 2054
2021 - 1864
2022 - 1713

Mean shortlisted BMAT:
2019 - 61.8
2020 - 68.0
2021 - 65.8
2022 - tbc

Idk what I'm hoping to get because the section 2 killed me. If I scrape an interview, I'll be over the moon.

Oh nice! I'm having second thoughts about London though... what made you want to apply to kings and UCL?

Loved UCL so much when i went for the open day. I also liked KCL the most out of the UCAT unis that I looked at. Living and studying in London just seems really cool to me.

thanks!

oh yes section 2 was an absolute nightmare :/
tbh though my school is a grammar and about 50 of us took the bmat this year and absolutely everyone felt like they failed section 2, so I reckon the boundary won't be as high this year. You probably did better than you think

UCL is above KCL. Conflicted between Oxford and UCL because I love them both so much, but I'm not too worried because the chances of getting both offers is tiny.

Oh damn 50? That's a lot. Yeah I got to a grammar school as well and some of the smartest people I know came out of the exam and said they failed that s2.

I wonder how people from previous years found it. Do you know anyone who took it before?

Also it's great that you've got two favourite unis! I know some people from ucl med and they love it! I'm currently struggling because I love Oxford so much more than any of the others, which is a terrible mindset because the chance of getting an offer is so low :/

What colleges did you all apply to? I applied to St Hugh’s. Not too optimistic as BMAT Section 2 sucked the life out me. Section went well, so I am confident with that. I really hope the cut off is lower. One of the guys at 6med predicts the boundaries every year, he’s been right for the past two years and this is what he has predicted.

Oxford is really really nice tbf. Last year most people said S1 was really easy and S2 was pretty bad. We had some re-applicants who all agreed that this year was harder than last year.

Thanks for posting these predictions, I don't know if they're making me more or less anxious about how I did lol but still appreciate the insight.

I put in an open application and in the college allocation email it said I would hear more from my college by the end of October, but other than the email with the application stats, I've not heard from Oxford again, has everyone else received communications from their college directly? Is anyone else waiting to hear from Hertford?

I can't say I have received another email beyond the one describing my application to the particular college I applied to (Keble), I haven't received any correspondence from Keble, though Oxford has confirmed my application to Keble itself. On the other hand, I am slightly nervous about the low acceptance level for this year (8.8%)
