Politics A-Level help

Hiii,

I need help coming up with arguments and counter arguments for this question!!!

Evaluate the view that political campaigns and elections should be funded by the state.

Thank you!!!
For:
-It would stop wealthy donors influencing policy if all funding came from the government. For example conservative treasurers can get a seat in the House of Lords if they donate £3 million to the party etc.

Against:
-It would use tax payers' money spending it on politicians, when this money could go to NHS and we already run a worrying deficit. Also, who tf wants their tax money to pay for self-serving politicians?
-Also there is the question of how much funding would each party get? If they all got equal, this is not really fair because a larger party like Cons or Lab would need more money that a tiny party only running in Wales for example. Also there may be lots of fake candidates who only run to get the campaign money. Another way of giving the money it to base it on the number of seats the party currently holds. However this would disproportionately favour the incumbent party, making it even harder for opposition to win (because the opposition would hold fewer seats and so get less campaign moneu).
