I haven’t heard back yet although I had my interview pretty early. I’m still hoping for the best but realise I’m probably not going to get it

I haven't heard back either. I didn't do great in Interview! On paper I'm a good candidate, although I'm not from a Russel Group Uni! What's your background?

I’m an international student, but from a top 50 uni and with very high grades and a lot of extracurriculars, many extra classes etc (or so I think, I don’t know what the average grade/profile is of people applying for this master). I feel like a problem with my application was that I only could say that I was super interested by this master, but didn’t have the things to back it up like an immunology internship or something. What about you?
I don’t think anyone exactly knows what they are looking for. My final year research project is in immunology so in my personal statement and interview I was talking a lot about that project and I feel like that helped me to “show” how interested I am in this course/ immunology. I think there is no one thing that you can do to get onto this course, it’s the whole picture: good marks, good references, good interview performance, an internship (or an industrial placement in my case).

I got an email offer today, so surprised as I felt my interview did not go well at all, so don't lose hope yet!

I have an interview on Friday, does anyone have any tips to prepare? I have a few publications, most rheumatology, but two immunological. Should i re-read those, or should I focus on brushing up immunology. I am about five years post grad, so don’t remember everything as well as I would like!

Know your previous research well and be able to describe basic immunological concepts well. Good luck!
