I have the following question for a biology assignment and have no clue what it is :'( the teacher said we have to research but I can't understand it.

Could you show how to determine the isotonic value (when y=0) using the linear function equation? Demonstrate it:

erm not too sure but i think you would obtain values from an experiment (e.g. putting potatoes in different concentrations of sucrose solutions and measuring the change in mass or length of the potato) and plot them on a graph. Where the line crosses the x axis is when there would be no net movement of water molecules between the potato and the sucrose solution (isotonic point).
