So today you became prime minister what would you do? Here’s what I’d do!
  1. Full 6 month lockdown to eliminate Covid completely.
  2. Scrap all GCSE and Alevel exams and replace with 100% coursework permanently.
  3. Encourage working from home in as many jobs as possible to reduce pollution and traffic congestion and save commuters money.
  4. Legalise Electric Scooters
  5. Scrap university tuition fees
  6. Ban all second homes especially investors homes, with compulsory purchase orders on existing second homes.
  7. A national rent cap and price cap on all homes of £150k nationally.
  8. Scrap driving theory test
  9. Scrap universal credit and sanctions.
  10. Make it easier to get into medical school so we can have more doctors.
  11. Plant forests in areas of low landscape and land value to reduce CO2.

1. Reform the electoral system to ensure proportional representation in Parliament.
2. Make general and local elections public holidays.
3. Ban employers from using bank holidays as part of statutory annual leave.
4. Gradually increase statutory annual leave from 5.6 weeks to 6-7 weeks.
5. Give all eligible workers the right to work from home at least 3 days a week.
6. Match the length of paternity pay / leave with that of maternity pay / leave.
7. Increase the amount of council housing.
8. Legalise and regulate the growing and selling of marijuana.
9. Apply food warnings on high-sugar food and alcohol, similar to those on cigarettes.

Presumably it would be at the head if the conservative party so I would need to make some changes there starting with tweaking the rules of leadership candidates to my favour, and then find a cadre of loyal MPs to be in my cabinet. Then I would appoint someone to start purging the party of people hostile to me Stalin style.

My domestic policies would gradually change from a very libertarian esque one to a much more nationalist one as I gain more power and influence. Most institutions are corrupt and I would hasten their Demise and then plant seeds for their replacement. Eg I would privatise the BBC then after a few years nationalise GB news. But to start with in no particular order)

1: Scottish referendum- if they choose to stay they lose all devolved powers.
2: Antifa and BLM to be labelled terrorist organisations
3: leave Nato, the ECHR and scrap the HRA and Equality Act
4: Slash public expenditure and give the money to the people instead as stimulus cheques
5: end lockdowns, no mandatory mask or vaccine mandates
6: Ten year moratorium on immigration
7: Demand free speech from tech giants and basically screw them over.
8: return all troops to the UK
9: set up a ministry of public accountability which will as a right wing public sector inquisition that will root out lefties
10- demand that Twitter reinstates Donald trump and gives me, him and our supporters immunity.
11- become a republic , and then a dictatorship..

8) End all UK involvement with the ECHR, RC1951 and 1967 Protocol.

9) Restrict overseas charitable endeavours & development aid partnership programmes to experienced secular charity partners.
With funding obtained through private donations, corporate donations or investments made through viable social enterprise groups where all investments are gradually intended to repaid in full.

19) Make convicted criminal offenders liable for the costs of: prosecuting them, compensation to surviving victims and if necessary all medical care for victims violently injured/sexually assaulted/traumatised by medium to long term abuse within a domestic or other context.

20) Legal immunity to ensure that all uk nationals with no other citizenships who are located within uk territories and attacked in their own home/business premises by any trespasser, burglar, armed intruder in possession of any illegal item or habitual criminal with multiple convictions cannot be arrested nor sued by any such predatory felon in any personal injury or other legal claim.

Aside from 2, 3 and 10 I oppose every one of Ambitious's ideas.

Support 4, 6, 7 and 9 for Shallow albeit most are not without merit.

Support 7 and 9 of ST, parts of 3 and 5.

Support 7-16, 18 and 20 of London but only oppose the first few because they are a low fiscal priority.

I'd rather it didn't happen but if our rulers were doing an excellent job I wouldn't care that much no if they made a bit of money esp if it's for a good cause. That said if anyone got too greedy a good public flogging and give all their money to charity ought to put the house in order.

So today you became prime minister what would you do? Here’s what I’d do!
  1. Full 6 month lockdown to eliminate Covid completely. Strongly disagree this should have happened Jan/Feb of last year not now, I'm sick of lockdowns and we can't live like this forever
  2. Scrap all GCSE and Alevel exams and replace with 100% coursework permanently. again strongly disagreed, I can go into a whole rant as to what I don't like about the education system (one of the things being the UK having an unhealthy obsession with examining pupils too often in a linear manner, pen and paper style) and what I'd change (less exams being one of the things) but as shown by the last 2 years we can't trust teachers to predict their pupils accurately so there's got to be some form of exam even if it's an oral one and the coursework needs to be externally marked imo depending on what the coursework is, also a subject like Maths for example needs an exam so we'll have to make an exemption for that subject. I'd strongly support the slow phasing out of GCSEs.
  3. Encourage working from home in as many jobs as possible to reduce pollution and traffic congestion and save commuters money. agreed although people should still be allowed to go to the workplace if they want to, like I wouldn't like to work from home for example as I want a clear boundary between work and home
  4. Legalise Electric Scooters strongly agreed but maybe they should make so that you have to get a licence (not a driving one but a one for E-scooters) also be harsh on people who use those things on the pavements, sick of seeing people use them on the pavement, use it on the hecking road like you're supposed to. Lots of cyclists also do the same, they cycle on the pavement when they're not supposed to again makes me angry.
  5. Scrap university tuition fees partially disagreed, I think that the SFE loans system need to be fairer first (screws over "middle" class families to the core).
  6. Ban all second homes especially investors homes, with compulsory purchase orders on existing second homes. disagreed, I can see why you want this (I'm not a fan of landlords) but I still disagree with it as people should have the right to buy a second home, that being said if they are simply buying the property as a means of investment and no other reason or they barely use it even without COVID then yeah make pay up or have them maybe sell the home
  7. A national rent cap and price cap on all homes of £150k nationally. agreed strongly with the rent cap bit, disagree with the price cap on homes, your not seriously going to tell me that a mansion should be the same price as 2 bed flat? Even then still disagree for other reasons
  8. Scrap driving theory test strongly disagreed to the core my guy, do you know how many unsafe drivers we could have as a result?!?! No sir this is just bad
  9. Scrap universal credit and sanctions. disagreed again, people who abuse the benefits system need to face negative consequences
  10. Make it easier to get into medical school so we can have more doctors. somewhat agreed but do we really want to lower the standard of our doctors
  11. Plant forests in areas of low landscape and land value to reduce CO2. i don't care about climate change but agreed
My thoughts (whether I agree or disagree)

Purging public institutions of people you disagree with, mandating freedom of speech only for yourself specifically and installing a dictatorship don't lend themself to situations where corruption can be dealt with / avoided.

10 "Make it easier to get into medical school so we can have more doctors."

Mmm Lowering the standards.....what could possibly go wrong?

Over 60% of GPs and rising are female. and 80% of those female GPs work part time.
Female GPs retiring early or leaving the field go on average at 38 Male GPs retiring early or leaving the field go on average at 55.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that as it is a work/life balance and they are free to make it but perhaps the government should allow for the different life choices men and women make on average and go out of their way to encourage more men into the field like they do women in STEM.

I'd say its a bit stronger than disagree with. These are people who would try a deliberately sabotage and undermine my regime.

Nah there'd be freedom of speech to criticise me, my government and Institutions. There'd be no hate speech laws but there would be blasphemy and obscenity laws.

The dictatorship would only be a temporary measure. Maybe "emergency powers," could be s better description.

What I would want Is a limited democracy where most people are not qualified to vote..

So... you basically just want to create a breeding ground for corruption? Because that's what this would do.

I mean there’s just so much we could do in this country. We’re in such a dire state of criminality and law offending it’s almost irrecoverable. I’d start by building more prisons. Make them different from the Butlins camp they are now, and stick problem offenders in them. Five strikes and you’re in there for life for low level crimes and immediate life imprisonment meaning life for murderers, rapists and *****s, and that includes retrospective sentences for people currently locked up.

I agree with points 8 and 11 of Ambitious1999's list.
Agree with point 2 of SHallowvale's list.
Agree with points 4, 5 and 10 of Starship Trooper's list.
Point 4 with a few safeguards; to avoid providing taxpayer cash to the uk's hoard of illegal narcotics dealers/addicts or predatory felons that pose a severe threat to public safety/public order.
