McDonalds OJE/interview and pay \questions

Sorry about the millionth McDonalds thread.
I need to ask about OJEs, interviews, pay and shifts but I slipped and it posted to early.

I have my OJE and interview on Sunday at 11am and I think there's a drive thru at this restaraunt.
What are they likely to make me do at the OJE and what do they ask in the interview?
Im wearing some black trousers, black flats with black socks and either a plain t shirt and black cardigan or a simple blouse.

Im 17, any ideas what I will be paid and will it be weekly or monthly or what?

If Im working evenings when will they want me in/finish? I don't finish at my nursery i work at for my NVQ until 5.30 so could get there for about 6.30pm, what are weekend shifts usually?

OJE - You'll be put on window 3 for 10-15 minutes, just to pass orders to customers, show your confident and can speak to customers along with show at least (for what it's worth) you can work in a team, slightly as you receive the orders - be polite.

Interview - It seems it varies across the UK what questions your asked - but typically it seems to be; what you you think you expect to do for your job role, previous work experience (if any), confirmation of availability, etc.

Clothes - Seems fine.

Pay Rate - £4.25 per hour usually for 16-17.. It depends on your area - seeming it's Birmingham, will probably be the same.

Shift Times - Honestly, there is no fixed or 'usual' shifts set, you get different shifts every week, nothing is set and you can get the most weirdest starting or ending shifts whenever the hell you want, and they will even try stretch you after your usual start/end availability you put down - so make sure you get it firm with the shift manager(s) that you definately can not do shifts that start/finish at X times, etc... For instance, some days I'll get a Saturday shift that's 8am to 4pm shift, some I'll get 11.45am to 7pm - like tomorrow! Weekday evenings, I've got things such as 5-10, 5-12, 6-11, 6-12.. There is no set shifts usually, no standards..

If you do have any problems, or want to confirm your availability if the manager that interviews you doesn't mention it, make sure you do ask before you go - if you didn't put it down on your online application.

Hope that helps!

McDonalds is a good place to work, it's just the majority of shift managers are arrogant arses who know they're good at their job. Some of them are lovely people but they are the least motivational people I've come across.

They are good at criticizing you if you make a mistake but they never tell you well done when you're done something right.

That is EXACTLY it, same here as well. :yep:
The pay in all my locals ones is £3.70 for under 18s and £4.70 for over 18s. Rubbish really, though don't let that put you off,

Busy, built-up areas that are slightly more expensive for say transport, etc such as London compared to other parts of the country will get slightly higher pay rates to accomodate for higher costs of transportation and other such things..

Does anyone know more about the OJE for the management programs?
It's tough to say about pay because it depends who your store is owned by. I worked there for a year, just left this month and I started when I was 17. because my store was owned by an independant franchise the franchisee could pay us anything he wanted (as long as it was legal, ofc).. therefore I was getting paid £3.75 when I first started, even though people in my neighbouring stores (own directly by the McDonalds company) were beingpaid £4.50+. When my store was the busiest and most profitable in the North East, this was very unfair. When I turned 18 I was still only being paid £4.85, disgrace!
Anyway, you could be one of the lucky ones.. McDonalds will change your life for both the better and the worst if your store is anything like mine, I swear it has been the most eventful year of my life.
I have one of these tomorrow. I was just wondering, do you just go to the front where they're serving and tell them you have an OJE/Interview? I'd feel a little bit awkward queing up just to say that when i'm not ordering anything haha!

Is it odd that my sister gets tips at McDonalds? That said she does have big boobs. Not even joking.
