May have accidentally splashed a pedestrian

I was driving home from the gym at 7am this morning, at that time it was still pitch black outside and with this storm it was difficult to see the road due to the rain coming down even with my wipers on their highest setting. Anyway on my way home the road has a left hand bend that you have to slow down for, I did slow down for the bend but I didn’t notice that there was a large puddle that I drove right through and the splash came up to the top of my windows. The section of the road I was on is poorly lit and with the rain I didn’t see the puddle until I was in it (admittedly I could have paid more attention).

Anyway after I drove through it I started thinking what if there was a pedestrian there? As I said it was very dark so I didn’t see anyone before the puddle and afterwards I did look in my mirrors but couldn’t see anyone. I’m worried now in case there was someone there, if there was and something comes of it would it be better if I just owned up and admitted I made a mistake?
