Second masters in healthcare

Good morning

I'm just wondering what the situation is regarding student finance and support for a second masters but in an allied healthcare profession. I'm looking to do occupational therapy but already have a self funded Masters in an unrelated subject.

I seem to be finding conflicting information on whether I would be eligible for student loans because of it being an allied healthcare profession course. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Hannah

Hi Hannah,

Occupational Therapy is listed as one of our Allied Health Profession (AHP) courses. AHP and NHS courses will be exempt from previous study and ELQ rules. Therefore if you already hold a degree or have previous study you will still be eligible to access the full package of funding.

Can you please confirm the university you wish to study at? We can then check to ensure the course is listed.

Kind regards, Amy

Thanks so much for your quick reply Amy, that's great to hear. I would be looking at Lincoln University.

You're welcome Hannah.

Yes, we have the course listed as eligible with Lincoln Univeristy for the 21/22 academic year. The 22/23 courses have not be uploaded yet for next year however, it will be eligible.

Thanks, Amy

Hi Hannah,

I am in the same position as you were now and again read conflicting information. I know this is a long-shot as you may not use this account anymore, but did you manage to apply for funding for a second masters in OT?

Thanks,
Ellie
