Official US Universities Applicants Thread 2022

Hey everyone!

There's less than a month left until most RD and ED2 applications are due now, so here's a place to discuss where you applied early, and/or where you'll be applying in the regular round!

Even after applications are due, this can be a great place to talk to others and get support regarding decision release, choosing the right university to attend, and maybe even meeting somebody else in the same class as you!

Here's some pointers to get you started:

1. What is your intended major, if you know?
2. Did you apply anywhere early, if so, where?
3. Where are you applying in the regular round?
4. How have you found the US application process?
5. Anything else you wanna talk about?

1. What is your intended major, if you know?

English Literature.

2. Did you apply anywhere early, if so, where?

Yale REA. Definitely not getting in (they never even approved my NCP Waiver), but I'm proud of myself for going for something I've wanted since I was 8!

3. Where are you applying in the regular round?

Unfortunately, I have very little time to work on Regular Round essays, so my list has narrowed down a lot from what it was originally. Currently, it's: Cornell (essay finished); Colgate (essays finished); Columbia (essays pending); Middlebury (no essays); Colby (no essays); Smith (need to start essays); Wellesley (need to start essays), and possibly Amherst. I'm really into small, New England Liberal Arts Colleges (and just New England in general!)

4. How have you found the US application process?

I've been lucky enough to receive a lot more support throughout the process than many people, which I'm incredibly grateful for. It's been a period of self-doubt and hardship, but I'm happy to have been given the opportunity to explore options outside of the UK. I think the worst part for me was definitely applying for financial aid. My mum didn't really have a stable job when I was filling in the CSS profile, so it was difficult to find a sufficient equivalent to the P60.

5. Anything else you wanna talk about?

To anyone else applying to uni (US, UK, etc.), I wish you the best of luck! No matter the outcome, you're a brilliant and extremely talented individual!

It's so cool to meet another English applicant! Unfortunately, I got deferred too. I know there's still a chance in Regular Decision, but I think I might apply Early Decision 2 somewhere else.
I hope you get accepted in Regular Decision—if not, it's Yale's loss
Hey all!

Applying to Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Princeton and Brown  all regular decision

Very last minute decision to apply to be honest so just making my way through the essays as we speak.

I’ve only applied to very competitive schools in US because if I went to the US it would only be for a really good college because I already have places at good unis in the UK and Ireland  plus i don’t have much time haha

Best of luck everyone

just curious, why not Dartmouth and Penn too? Not saying I disagree with not doing Dartmouth, haha, I haven’t either! I applied to all of them but Dartmouth and Cornell.

Anyone who applied for PhD in Harvard University? Specifically PhD Biological Sciences in Public health with specialisation in Infectious disease and Immunology?
Hey, what are your predicted grades if you don't mind me asking? I've also applied to some US Unis; NYU, Northwestern, Pace. Wishing you best of luck!
