which of the 3 definition would you say is best fitted for ‘function of respiration’?

These are just 3 different ones I made up, idk which one to use if there was a question like state function of respiration

1. releases energy stored in organic molecules such as glucose

2. supplies blood with oxygen in order for blood to deliver oxygen to all parts of body

3. stores biochemical energy within ATP

Respiration usually refers to cellular respiration, in which case the second one isn’t right, but I can see why you said it.

As you have said, respiration is the process by which the energy in glucose and other substrates is converted to ATP.
