doing higher computing and want to drop the subject. would it be too late? i have gotten offers from my first and second choice unis which require me to get 3 highers this year which i will still have if i dropped computing. has anyone else done this before?

It is possible, you'll have to let your school know ASAP so they can withdraw you from exams/qualification.
You mentioned it would still mean you met the offer requirements, which is great, hence shouldn't be a issue. However, to be on the safe side I would contact the unis to double check.
